I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that the person who posted to Markus' blog wasn't actually Markus himself. Certainly he didn't make the map image that was posted with the text. Otherwise it would say things like "I have joined Theo." and "I have shown true Thumos.", rather then stuff like "Markus is on our side now."
Even if Markus were the sort of guy to refer to himself in the third person, saying "Markus is on our side now." would still be an odd way of putting it.
Secondly, if that had been Markus, you'd think he'd add a note to the effect of... "Oh, by the way, you know how I sent out an email to some of you basically screaming for help? Yeah, never mind. I was wrong, I wasn't in any danger. You don't need to rescue me or anything. My bad." ?
As to the map, I noticed that parts of it are outlined in with color boarders similar to the colors from the Omphputer graph and the outlines we've been using on the PanCosmologizer.
That's terribly interesting, even if it does generally come from "the enemy", don't you think?
