Markus and Bacon's Nova Atlantis

Markus's latest blogpost is really something to worry about - strange - confusing. He seems to have become a renegade and joined Theo's side. I am just working on a German translation of the English text he posted.

The English text he posted is a literal excerpt from Francis Bacon's Nova Atlantis, probably copied from Project Gutenberg. Needs to be compared to the Latin text. The last paragraph ("But the divine revenge" etc.) originally does not end the text, but can be found some paragraphs before the other passages Markus (?) - or whoever has posted this - quotes.

The map he posted shows the territory of the German Empire (1871-1918).

What is this supposed to mean? Has Markus been forced or blackmailed to join the other side, or has he deserted the labyrinthists voluntarily? Are we really on the right side?

Francis Bacon: Proponent of enlightenment and a scientific revolution, superiority of empirical science, modern research, mastery of technology, ... Why does this correspond the what is seemingly our enemies' position? Do they see themselves as some sort of renewed Solomonean Academy?

From Eli Hunt's podcast (about the secret artifact) I understand the the House of Solomon is an institution to support the athletes, not to work against them.

Here's another excerpt from Bacon's New Atlantis that Markus hasn't quoted:

"But now to come to our present purpose. When the king had forbidden to all his people navigation into any part that was not under his crown, he made nevertheless this ordinance; that every twelve years there should be set forth, out of this kingdom two ships, appointed to several voyages; That in either of these ships there should be a mission of three of the Fellows or Brethren of Salomon's House; whose errand was only to give us knowledge of the affairs and state of those countries to which they were designed, and especially of the sciences, arts, manufactures, and inventions of all the world; and withal to bring unto us books, instruments, and patterns in every kind: That the ships, after they had landed the brethren, should return; and that the brethren should stay abroad till the new mission. "

Sounds bad alright. By Next Atlantis, do you think they mean to encourage the desynchronization and create a sort of Atlantis universe, as supposed to the sunken island.

And the German Empire? What do that have to do with it. What are Ariadne's thoughts on this, haven't heard from her in a while, have we?

There is more to that post than meets the eye. Looking at the HTML source may give you some insight.
